Hobbit

Have you ever been stuck in a dark and creepy cave with something unknown ahead? In this suspenseful tale, “The Hobbit”, by J.R.R. Tolkien writes about a brave little Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, who displays courage in risky situations, such as being lost in a dark cave.

The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien is an epic saga about dragons, and dwarves. It is set in Middle Earth. The main characters are Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Wizard, and the 13 dwarves. Despite Bilbo’s hesitation, Gandalf convinces Bilbo to embark on an adventure to help retrieve the dwarves' treasure back. Fighting enormous spiders, goblins, wolves, and dragons, Bilbo starts to become bolder. When they arrive at the Lonely Mountain, Bilbo becomes a sneaky and stealthy burglar. Bilbo discovers the dragon’s weak spot. Lakeman Bard kills the dragon. Sadly, because a war starts over the treasure, people fall like flies, and then the treasure is finally divided up.

Bilbo is a very courageous Hobbit who journeys on an adventure. When Bilbo lost his way, he decided to keep exploring. ‘“Go back?” he thought. “No good at all. Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do. On we go!”’ When Bilbo is stuck in a slimy situation, he knows that going backwards or sideways won’t help, so he decides to go forward. Upon going forward, he ends up in a cave with a strangely slimy creature, who challenges him to a game of riddles. Asking him an impossible question, Bilbo tries to escape from Gollum, the slimy creature, because he is enraged and frustrated. He had stolen an invisibility ring from Gollum. Bilbo’s courage helps him flee out of the cave and get back to his friends.

In conclusion, this story is a moving tale which shows courage and perseverance. Thankfully, Bilbo’s courage helped him narrowly avoid a horrible death. Bilbo learned that having courage can help you persevere and escape risky situations.
