If you see a girl sitting in the corner of a classroom drawing instead of doing a class presentation, then that’s probably me. If you see someone sitting on a beanbag reading a book instead of going to recess, that’s probably also me. My name is Annabelle Wang, I’m 9 ½ (10) and in the 4th (5th) grade. I really like anime and reading. I dislike spiders, clowns, and darkness. My friends would describe me as many things, but mainly they would say that I’m shy and kind.
Some things that I love are anime and reading! My favorite books are Wings of Fire and the screenplay of Hamlet (and all of the screenplay of Shakespear’s plays!). My favorite quote from Hamlet is, “To be or not to be, that is the question.” I like writing down quotes in books when I like one or think one is meaningful! Reading helps me relax and it makes me feel good. It’s always fun to grab a book from the shelf to read when you have nothing to do! Now, onwards to anime! Anime is a very precise and careful art! I know that because anime artists are very serious about drawing. If I read anime or watch it, I know that the authors or screenwriters are very precise about everything! All the characters look the same in different scenes! It's so amazing how they can draw them the exact same as the original version! When I watch an anime called ``Vinland Saga” it takes me back to the time of the vikings and medieval times! When I watch another show called, “Sailor Moon '' it takes me to an actual Japanese school campus! I learn about friendship, courage, and self-sacrifice in an anime called, “My Hero Academia '' Some people also call it “Boku no Hero Academia '' because it’s a Japanese film. I understand that good artists practice every day to draw even though I don't do it every single day. Though I can’t draw it too well myself, I’m always open to new suggestions and editing! I know that I can’t draw as well as others but I’m always trying to get better and learn more! I really appreciate and look up to anime artists!
I’ve hated spiders ever since I was little. Well, I didn’t hate them, they’ve just always creeped me out. They look really gross and they are sometimes poisonous. Even though I know that spiders help the environment instead of destroying it I still don’t feel comfortable when I see one. In fact, when I see one, I squash them all the time! If I don’t squish them I get a towel and throw it at them. If I don’t do that, then I run away and tell my mom to kill it!
I’m not the biggest fan of the dark. When I see dark colors, it makes me feel sad and lonely. I’m OK with seeing dark colors when it’s still light outside but when I see it at night I feel jittery. Dark colors make me think of sorrow and depression.
The first time I had gone to the circus I saw a really freaky clown. It creeped me out because of their faces. A huge red smile painted onto yet another layer of white face paint. They've always given me the heebie jeebies! You probably already guessed the part of a clown that is the most disturbing to me the most is their faces. The red noses scare me too because they make the man in the creepy mask and clothing look inhuman. The big shoes of the clowns also kind of freak me out because no one has feet as big as that! It feels very weird and disturbing if a clown looks at you like it’s about to kill you. If a clown looked at me like that for more than two seconds I’d probably slide under my seat just to make sure he wasn’t staring. If I see a clown puppet or a clown in a shop, I’d always turn it around so it faced the wall.
By reading this you probably know that I’m a girl who hates clowns, spiders, and darkness! You probably also know that I’m described as shy and kind! I know that you know that I love reading, especially when the book is anime! I guess that’s what you need to get to know me better!
